NAMCYA 2012 Music Competitions

The National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) Foundation, Inc. through the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Ms. Veronica T. Merk, announces the launching of the 2012 Competitions in Senior Ballet, Choir, Guitar, Piano, Voice, Solo Rondalla instruments, and Traditional Music Ensemble, together with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Commission for Higher Education (CHEd).

Now on its 39th year, NAMCYA continues to discover and develop outstanding young Filipino musicians from all over the country. This year’s competitions are: Choir, Senior Ballet, Guitar, Piano, solo Rondalla instruments namely Banduria, Laud, Piccolo, and Octavina, Voice, and Traditional Music Ensemble.

Competition guidelines have been released (http://namcya.weebly.com/programs.html) and applications are now being accepted at the NAMCYA Secretariat Office, Folk Arts Theater, CCP Complex, Pasay City. Deadline for submission of all requirements is on or before 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 except for Traditional Music Ensemble which is on or before 5:00 p.m., Monday, September 3, 2012.
